I always love to explore new cities in The Netherlands, and this time we took a trip to Alkmaar. It is such a pretty place, a mixture or traditional Dutch architecture and surroundings yet with a modern lifestyle of those who live and visit there.

We spent the day walking around, looking in all of the small shops and boutiques, picking things up for Chirstmas (I know, already!) And then onto the main streets overlooked by the historic buildings, stopping for lunch at a mini bistro called de buren (The neigbours in dutch) located in the centre over one of the canals, a perfect place to watch the minature world of Alkmaar go by...

Hello October.

Although the sun is shining in Amsterdam this weekend, the falling leaves and cold mornings are the definite signs that winter is on its way!

This weekend I spent my days sitting by the canals with my friends wining and dining watching the world go by...But to prep for winter, here are a couple of winter warmers which
have been purchased this weekend....they are oh so versatile! love love.

MEN TODAY NL Launch Party

Thursday night was the lauch party of Men Today website, a shopping portal specifically for men. The location was at Baut, conveniently a stones throw away from the office and a big favourite with everyone at work.

The theme was Blue Denim, which was such a good theme for the evening, denim everywhere in all kinds of clothing types, dungarees, shirts and jeans. Mojitos flowing, music playing the night was a big success with everyone, and it was definitely worth the headache at work the next morning...

With the colder seasons drawing closer, it is time for the A-Z of Autumn/Winter 2013 clothes to begin to fill my winter wardrobe. Starting early with my essentials, ankle boots. I bought my first pair of boots (black fur trimmed ankle boots) when my sister came to visit and we stumbled accross a really really good vintage shop near Waterlooplein, Amsterdam. 

On a hot summers day in August, I spotted the black fur boots and couldn't resist to buy them (I like to do a bit of forward thinking...) as I thought they were a beautiful pair to have for the cold days upon us, especially with the fur detail which is big news this season. My sisters persuasion to buy them also didn't dishearten the purchase (or mine vice versa with a pair of vintage Levi Shorts RIP*)

My brown pair of boots were one of the purchases from my trip to London (see blog post below) With my sisters' both buying a pair of Topshop boots, I thought it was only fair that I did in true sibling style. I love the cut out detail and they are so comfy, can't get enough of them! 

 

Both pairs give personality to my outfits and can be reworked with whatever you want to wear really! That said, it is fair to say that you cannot have too many pairs..can't wait to add to the collection.

 

(*RIP) The Levi shorts had a very short life in the hands with my sister. Leaving them on top of her tent to dry off after torential rain at Leeds Festival and sadly disappeared...We hope they have found a good home in the world, and not with the thief.

Forever A Love For London

My love for London will never grow old, and my annual weekend trip with my sisters (Hannah and Emma) and Mum (Suzanne) reminded me once again how exciting the Capital is.

Always so much fun, full of laughter, culture & of course, shopping...

The days were filled with a lot of walking, seeing the sites all over London, a trip round Covent Garden, Green Park, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge and one of the highlights was definetely going to see Les Misérables on Shaftesbury Avenue, I highly recommend!

The hype of LFW 2013 was everywhere this year, and we picked up a few freebies whilst exploring Covent Graden from favourites including Benefit Cosmetics, Seven Dials & Lulu Guiness!
